Human activity can affect the earth. The way termites affect a home, the way rats affect the houses they infest, the way cockroaches infest houses. We affect our ecosystem. There are too many of us doing damage. The Earth is regulating it's environment, like you would if you had termites, rats, or cockroaches. Those who are wise will run to the hills, and readjust with the ecological forces.

im confused? so kartrina is because of global warming? i guess self-awareness has a way of developing fear. to bad science and history say its happend before its going to happen again. humans no doubt have something to do with it, however remote. however we still have a few more degrees to go. and its going to happen. we are not more powerful the the earth. if it wants to warm gets what its going to warm.

Who really cares? What you are really fearful of is one night you are going to go to sleep, in the mourning while in your car your driving to work, then POOF ! a 12 megaton Hydrogen Nuclear device detonates just 7 minutes from where you are. In that brief 2.4 seconds before you are turned to ash you say one thing to yourself," Was it Islam"? Ha- Ha ! Then your gone, not a book written about you, a movie, or a family to talk about you. As if you never existed. So stop worrying about ice melting.

The southern oceans have become saturated as a carbon sink. Glaciers are melting worldwide. Major land based carbon sinks like the Amazon are devastated and drought areas are expanding. Vast areas of tundra are melting for the 1st time in ages, releasing methane, a worse greenhouse gas than C02. Cattle, a huge source of methane are replacing cleared forests. Worldwide temperature changes are in an acceleration pattern since the late 1800s. Humans are overpopulated and are a virus on this planet.

jimguesswork: You're a goddamn liar. When the effects of this start getting really severe, it would be fitting that you and your family are the first to die. Don't believe that 17 billion tons of unabsorbed carbon dioxide pumped into the atmosphere a year is having any effect on the earth's atmosphere? Why don't I go ahead and dump a ton of arsenic in your living room? Since arsenic already exists in nature, its harmless, remember. you better shut up now. |
