I as an Agnostic reject or withhold belief in ANY God(s)for that matter. And i also reject belief in the stance that God(s) does not exist. The possibility that God(s) may exist and BELIEVING in God(s) are ideas that are not mutually exclusive. So basically the fact that i acknowledge the possibility of a God or Gods does not necessarily mean i belief in one, which is the same thing as rejecting belief. So no my friend you are wrong.

Wrong. Agnosticism is DEFINITELY NOT a position rejecting the belief in an earthly God. Short: A Godbeliever and an Atheist are two sides of the same coin. The Believer believes, that a God exists, the atheist believes, that there is no God. In that sense, they are both believers. But the Agnostic says nothing more than: "I do not know, if God exists or nót. I am open to both options and for everything." He holds the wisest position of the 3. Basic philosophy.

Atheism and agnosticism are positions rejecting the belief in an earthly God. It gets more complex then that. Agnosticism is seen as a qualifier between theism an atheism. Atheism also breaks down into different branches. In a nutshell i believe God(s) cannot be proven to exist or not exist. Absence of evidence IS NOT evidence of absence. God(s) is not omnipotent and may be flawed. Belief by definition should be utterly based on empirical evidence or proof through science.

Theism isnt possible because at this present moment in time I cannot see God/know that he exists, basically this "Faith" Idea is pretty weak where te proof of God is concerned. So for the time being I am an agnostic. I must therefore be aware of what factors God comes into my knowledge.I can see his powers, smell him.... etcBut this could still be doubted with philosophical scepticism
TheSophist2007 (September 1, 2007 at 5:34 pm)
Im an agnostic because I don't believe being an Atheist and theist is possible. It is not possible to disprove the existence of God because it is possible there are facts beyond your current knowledge that could lead to Theism.

"to prove or disprove anything in science either". LOL! The only response you deserve
fabbio8888 (August 23, 2007 at 12:29 pm)
When you all speak about God and Agnosticism, you should use not God but "the Transcendence". I.e: what philosophy invented to question about the unundestandable apriori. We cannot exclude that Transcendence does not exist.Usually any God is transcendent. If the Gods we speak about transcends (also), you only can be agnostic logically. If you speak about some God ONLY IMMANENT, then being Agnostic would be silly. That's exaustive

Actually we don't have the tools needed to prove or disprove anything in science either. Science nevertheless allows us to take positions about the natural world by inductive positivism as well as the cleansing power of Occam's razor.

we dont have the TOOL needed to prove or disprove an exsistance of a god at this time hopefully we will soon i doubt this tool will be found in my life time.
