I guessed that's what you were referring to. People poke fun at him for this reason, although he is a fantastic-looking fellah. I say this, and I'm straight! As for the song itself, not that it really matters, but it stormed up the charts in 1970, yet was kept off its rightful #1 position only by the naff England World Cup song. Later, Dude

Sorry, it's cockney slang. Barnet fair = hair. Just having a bit of a laugh about his hairdo. Great song though.

Lol beano, brummie hippies, not often you hear that! Oh Justin, surely the worst barnet in the history of British music. But what a song, a real classic, thanks for posting, really took me back.

This song was so inspiring to me in my youth for it's insight, truth & beauty. Nowadays, young people have Snoop, Busta, Britney and the like. What a DIFFERENT world it now is...

This song is more than a song really. It's more like a shining ray of hope which illuminates the truth about human kind - that there's something in human beings worth caring about - worth believing in - despite all the greed, violence and madness - maybe there is love, trust, and friendship too. Maybe we might survive? A Group like the Moody Blues - man, we were lucky.
