Natural magnetic fields are revealed as chaotic, ever-changing geometries as scientists from NASA's Space Sciences Laboratory excitedly describe their discoveries. The secret lives of invisible magnetic fields are revealed as chaotic, ever-changing geometries. All action takes place around NASA's Space Sciences Laboratory, UC Berkeley, to recordings of space scientists describing their discoveries. Actual VLF audio recordings control the evolution of the fields as they delve into our inaudible surroundings, revealing recurrent 'whistlers' produced by fleeting electrons. Are we observing a series of scientific experiments, the universe in flux, or a documentary of a fictional world? The secret lives of invisible magnetic fields are revealed as chaotic, ever-changing geometries. are you saying graphic designers cant be scientists? hahaha... please.

This is very pretty, and an interesting representation of SOLAR magnetic field lines. But it's somewhat inappropriate as that room is NOT the sun - it's magnetic field lines would be more smooth, less tangled, and would not be moving much at all.The film is partially accurate, but not accurate enough.- This is in a room, not the SUN.- Field lines are NEVER open ended, they always meet up with something. Always.Anyway, the effort is applaudable at least.

Only the British can confuse something so deftly then call you stupid because you don't get it. UK = an island of racist hobbits with bad teeth.

You fuckin' idiots! Nobody said that the magentic fields you see in the video are real(magnetic fields are invisible, you can't see them). This video was made by scientists usign computer-generated imagery to give people an idea how a magnetic field looks and functions. The world is full of stupid people that just don't GET IT!

does anybody know how they approximate the shapes/paths? is it simply by imitating the sun's flares, etc.? how do they arrive at the variety of "hairballs"? and I missed the explanation of the small red balls rising up in that chamber...anybody know what those are supposed to be?
