Concrete is actually very flexible-considering it is made up of many small particles of Stone. This is why if you ever see the construction of concrete anything, you will see them put steel bars to reinforce the concrete. This will keep it from pulling apart. That is why they call it ReBar (Reinforcing Bar)

In that case, If a Jet plane crashes on landing and knocks out an ant hill, and all the Passengers get out alive, they would have to report the Ants' death in the fatality section on the NTSB report- but they don't!

Then the collapse was still fatal. If any life was taken in this disaster, it was fatal. It doesn't matter if the one fatality was a dog, cat, hamster or pet goldfish, it's still a fatality.

Wikipedia says that the original film was in color, but newsreels like this one were done on black and white film stock. Makes sense to me. The color version looks typical for the era.
