u are saying proteins and acids an whatever esle but think about it we on earth are carbon based... how do u not believe that over billions of years bacteria on other planets have evolved to suit whatever resources are available on those planets...they may not use protein and oxygen and whatever else this again is maybe y they dnt try to come to earth as they cannnot servive in our atmosphere...maybe due to air temperature etc..

I think alot of people are mis-understanding the Drake equationWhen they say how many planets do you think inhabit life, they are taking into consideration how many planets host the necessary chemicles to produce the nucleic-acids and proteins, the building blocks of lifefrank0067, why would little green clowns be living in grains of sand on the beach? The beach doenst have the right conditions to create life. You misunderstood the Drake equation.

think about this: there are trillions of stars inside the milky way galaxy, there are trillions of galaxies in the universe, and there are trillions of universes... God is greater than you think. it has not be so called "proven" yet... but I know for sure God is beyond anything ANYBODY has to say. he's even beyond religion as we know it.

ceviche666 (2 weeks ago) -SAID:How can you say there's no scientific base whatsoever Frank. This is an equation based on the mathematics of probability, not wishful thinking as you put it.If there isn't or hasn't ever been other life in the universe, it is as Carl would say "an awful waste of space".=====================================OK instead of planets, when hes doing his math use same calculations to see the possibilities of small green clown living in grain of sand on the beech.

frank0067: "hahahahahthey are NO MORE scientists than iam a bir"hahahahah - then you are a bird - hahahahah
frank0067 (May 5, 2008 at 12:54 pm)
LOL..Scientists...hahahahah they are NO MORE scientists than iam a bird you say..."how can you know how many planets support life".. ()oThese religious folks LIKE drake don't have slightest idea of science ( so called) when they should actually take a look at the odds of what it takes to support life here 1st...HOW many equations enter in the idea of supporting life here?
sergejsh (May 5, 2008 at 4:48 am)
frank0067: ".."multiply that by WHAT YOU THINK "... LOL"Right - "what you think". Because how can you know exactly, how much planets can support life? Or how much can not support? For now we can say that very approximately.Next - these are not "aliens ufo people". These are scientists. .."multiply that by WHAT YOU THINK "... LOLwhat a bunch of nonscence.. these aliens ufo people are hardened religious folks

That's just in our GALAXY! What if you took all the other galaxies into the equation? That would mean there would be millions of civilizations out there. That's fun to think about.
