That video you mentioned is certainly one of their best performances. In my opinion I think TW was at their best when Ibo, Willie & Carrot were in the group. No disrespect to Ruption who is a very good drummer and Herbie on keys.

Tony Williams is certainly an excellent drummer but I think Willie Stewart was the best (see video "Third World Percussion Jam Sunsplash Reggae Festival'81" on youtube).

The drummer maybe is better but Michael ibo cooper was really from another planet. in the late seventies they were more charismatic and full of energy than bob marley, expecially live.....

The Current drummer Tony "Ruption" Williams is awesome, I actually thought he was playing along with a percussionist, he has taken the songs to a higher level of drumming as the drummer before him (Willie Stewart) did when he took over from Cornel Marshall, their original drummer

So? The lead guitar playing in this particularly video is sloppy. He hits some bum notes, seems to noodle a bit without any idea of what he's going for.It's still a good performance, especially in terms of vocals. |
