bop..."the level of Hendrix?" You are a child. I won't waste my time communicating with you further.

Face!

Whether Kessel played with or signed pop/rock/schlock musicians does not in any way detract from his humanity and artistry. It may be a shock to you Perv, but many Depression-era Americans could not conceive of such a concept as "selling out." Barney was getting his, and God Damn, good for him. Dizzy was a total cornball, but played his dick off. Anyone who recorded with Bird and Elvis is an icon by default.

For a narcissist like yourself, nothing is more frightening than jazz appealing to more than a handful of musicians and academics.

People of your ilk use your taste in jazz to alienate others, to prop your insecure pathetic self above them, though most of jazz is dance music after all, and even the most difficult of it is swinging and beautiful. What you fear the most is its mass appeal because that might shine a light your own insignificance, that you have no tastes or sensibilities upon which you may climb in order to spit down at the WalMart shoppers you desperately loathe.

Well, I certainly don't know how one might go about determining "the most difficult music to play," but I do concede that playing jazz and classical music requires a level of dedication and discipline I find scarce in other idioms, though I sincerely doubt playing on the level of Hendrix, though it's that silly dumb Rock, is something that can be done without genius, hard work or both. That said, we're not talking about what it takes to play the music, but rather what it takes to listen to it.

Bop...The American public will listen to any kind of trash music, put any kind of garbage food into their bodies, and put any kind of idiot into the White House. Case closed.

bop...Your comment is one of the most ridiculous I have read in my life. When I was 8 years old, I could play rock and country music, but it took many years of work to play jazz. Harry Connick, Jr. once said something similar. He said jazz was the most difficult music to play, and that he can only play a little bit, and scratch the surface of it. He once said the Beatles were "fifth-raters," on then got death threats in the mail. |
