I want to study iaido. My favorite part is the philosophy expressed in the beginning and ending customs. Also, I think the economy of movement in the different kata are amazing.

I personally hate Seitei, and haven't taught it to my students for the best part of 10 years. I start them off with Omori, they seem to come on a lot quicker.

Wonder why they just don't do Toho since it's the accepted 5 waza for the top iai koryu.

In these guys have 5 yrs+ training in ZNKR Iaido, I find their performance very poor...They wouldn't survive the mudan champioships in europe :-)

Yep, This is Seitei Iaido!All 12 kata, the guy on the right is perfoming the odd numbers & the left the even numbers!Seitei Iai, is a seperate art to Kendo, kendo has a different set of kata and use a bokken for kata. However, Seitei Iai is encouraged as a part of Kendo training, so as to achieve a more complete understanding of swordmanship!To demonstrate all 12 kata, these Iaidoka would have to atleast shodan (5yrs+ training)!

They are both doing Seitei the one on the right is doing the odd numbers and the one on the left is doing the even numbers but they are both MSR students.

Looks like a Kendo group (students had shinai) where visiting Japanese sensei are demonstrating the Zen Nihon Kendo Renmei Seitei Gata. The Iaido standard set that Kendo players use to learn how to handle a real sword.
