This looks a lot like a Disney prophecy on our present situation on Wall Street. The bulls butting heads trying to impress one another; a fake bull rally and a bunch of dummies putting their money on a weak bull.With Ben Bernanke as the matador of course.

The book was written with pacifistic themes as opposed to gay themes, but it can be interpreted as that; not that pacifism is 'gay', but the idea of somebody who's expected to be all manly and brutish but is different from all the other boys is something a lot of gay men are going to identify with right off the bat.

Of course I used to read this in English and Spanish to my kids when they little. I read the book when I was kid so it was fun to read it over and over and over. I don't think they ever got tired of hearing it. Then, they had an artist friend of ours create a paining of Ferdinand from the book for my birthday. That was in 1995 and I still hang the painting proudly. We call the moment of enlightenment cause that it was his expression when he sat on the bee.
