If you listen to DM they-particularly in their classic stuff tend to use 8th notes at the rhythmic heart of their music. De/Vision most often has 16th notes perculating which give a completely different feel and approach to rhythem. Now, it is true that their lead vocals occupy the same timbral range.

theres no deniying on devision taking stuff from Dm, they were inspired by them and they will always be. they are dm fans and thats all, any ways they have their kind of own style

I don't get why people call them a Depeche Mode copy. They have different style, mood, and over all sound. De/Vision is closer to Darkwave rather than Synthpop like Depeche Mode.

Ok, so then outside of the realm of synthpop/electronic/ebm/gothic/industrial, what are their influences? Probably slim to none since bands like this are only capitalizing on a niche audience made up of people who won't listen to anything else that doesn't sound like Depeche Mode, et al. Am I right or am I right?
