I forgot when I saw this before...and I never really cared much until now...THIS IS HILARIOUS and Colbert has got some balls to talk about Bush and I give him MAJOR kudos for doing it. It's a job very well done.

I thought he was talking about the mainstream news media, particularly FOX news and CNN.

Well in Denmark christmas was a heathen celebration of midwinter with no changing of social roles to my knowledge. We celebrated Thor and it was called yule. Christianity sort of dopted the feast - perhaps a way of saying, 'okay, even though you become christian you can keep your feast'... I guess we appreciated that...

Perhaps it's like in primitive societies where once a year for a limited duration of time (say 3 hours) the servants takes the places of the kings or whatever - and the kings takes the places of the servants. It reportedly brings some kind of balance into the fabric of these societies. It sort of says 'yeah - I've treated you like shit, I've lied, I've deliberately misused you - but now you have the chance to give it back... so I can give you shit for another year afterwards'.Just a guess...

This is quite possibly the best thing I have seen in all of my life. Bless Stephen Colbert. |
