In the 70s, 80s and the early 90s ... the music made the money for the companies... if those artists and releases were not demanded by listeners then we had no voice in Australia except for the imports.. for a while

To give an indication of how STUPID music has become, we have a song, which is not even MEANT to be a joke in top 5 about a woman who is called the wrong name all the time. The Ting Tings That's Not My NameShe does not even tell us what her name actually is!Maybe I am just getting old.

joysub1In the 80s, it was a time when record companies still cared more about music than profit.Bands could do a bad album or single and bounce back without getting dropped. It was still about MUSIC rather than VIDEOS and how sexy the singer was.(Lets be honest Madonna was very ugly in early vids, holiday)It was a pioneering time for electronic music, a lot of experimentation in this area.Musicians were prepared to push back boundaries and take risks.

davesportyThey were NOT the first to do this type of music. However this was the first commerically successful remix tune in the UK.Up until that point there had been experimented in clubs etc and some released but this tune brought the style into the mainstream.

This track is positively from late 1987. Unfortunately, the 90's came and turned pop music into a pile of shit.
