Your joking right? We didn't turn on the taliban. They turned on us. Remember 911. Why the hell would we give someone weapons and loads of money and then decide to fight them. Americans aren't stupid. The invasion of Afghanistan was retaliation to the destruction of the world trade center. The US does not have it nearly as bad as the soviets did. The casualties for the US and NATO combined haven't even broken a thousand yet. And thats 7 years after the taliban were defeated.

The western nations funded and armed the mujahedeen to fight the soviets. they turned to taliban. Now the west is fighting against their own weapons and the men they trained guerilla tactics themselves. there'll be no peace in afghanistan. sure, the people need help. but if we're not welcome there, we should'nt go.

the Taliban was not a uniting force at all, they killed well over 1 million Afghans and divided us so much not seen in the history of their own (150 years). they were pakis not Afghan, they were getting help from Americans, British, German and French the very same people who funded them turned against the Taliban just like they did it against Sadam Hussain when they told him to invade Kuwait and when he invaded Kuwait, they attacked him and called him agrresor.

Afghans are really the best Nation on earth, what a pity if they could have back their own name coz this is an imposed name by British who favoured the Pashtoons and changed the name to Afghanistan in 1848. 150 years ago. this great nation had fought Alexander, Changis Mongol, British empire three times, and again under the new name Afghanistan against Russians, Arabs in early 1990s and then the Taliban in late 1990s and early 2000. death to every who support the name Afghanistan
