We've sent robotic craft, so yes, in a way we *have* gone there already! To put this into context, Phoenix landed on Mars on 25 May this year, after launching on 4 August 2007 - thus ~10 months, and the Spirit and Opportunity rovers landed on 4 January 2004 and 25 January 2004 after launching on 10 June 2003 and 7 July 2003, respectively - thus, approximately 6 months each.

According to Virgin Galactic, it was 65% complete in May.

I agree, but I doubt China will mass-produce spacecraft, but who knows.

I am not to sure about the future of this planet in the next couple of years but if it is not destroyed I am sure that there will be many space flights. I think China will make progress fast in space and they will mass produce spaceships, this will make every other country nervous and also prompt them to mass produce. There should be thousands of spacecraft in space by 2050 if everything goes well.
