"Dover" was written by John Flynn as a response to the US policy of not letting the caskets of fallen American soldiers be photographed as they returned home. He felt it was wrong that the cost of the war was being hidden and that the sacrifices of these brave men and women were not being acknowledged. It was written around the time of the 1,000th US Military death in the Iraq war. This song is a tribute to those who make the ultimate sacrifice in their duty to our country.Performance at North American Folk Alliance Feb 2006 Austin, TXTo see a powerful slide show to the CD version of the song check out...www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7X2iJ9usjw "Dover" is on John's new CD, "Two Wolves", available at amazon.com, iTunes, and John's web site www.johnflynn.netFor more about John, check....www.johnflynn.netwww. yspace.com/johnflynnfolksinger"Dover" © 2005 Flying Stone Music (ASCAP)Video by Tshirt Cathywww.myspace.com/tshirtcat ywww.mettafourrecords.comwww.gypsysoul.fm

What an amazing song. There's songs that grab you by the throat and wrestle you to the ground and throw you two for three -- this one made me take out the whisk broom. Thank you, John. Needs to be required listening for every legislator and stupid functionary who forget that they deal in human lives, not names on a list.

Wow. This song is amazing. We're stationed in Dover. I hear the rumble of c-5's all the time. God Bless for putting feelings of just about everyone I know into such amazing lyrics. Thank You. I wish I heard it more often. 92.9 The River hear in Dover does a great job...All stations should follow suit.
