1992年4月29日至5月2日，美国第二大城市洛杉矶暴发了本世纪以来最大的种族骚乱，骚乱持续3天，波 及整个美国，震惊了世界。这次暴力事件造成58人死亡，2300多人受伤，11900多人被捕，5000多 座建筑物被毁，财产损失达10亿美元。 这次事件的起因是对警察殴打黑人罗德尼·金案的不公正裁决。1991年3月3日，4名警察轮番棒打黑人罗德 尼·金，舆论要求当局查办打人凶手，起诉4名警察。一年过去了，洛杉矶一家地方法院组成了一个没有黑人参加 的12人陪审团，在远离洛杉矶白人居住的小镇上开庭，于4月29日宣布4名警察无罪释放，消息不胫而走，引 起全国上下强烈反响，黑人上街示威抗议，采取了报复行动，由抗议示威上升为暴力冲突，烈火四处燃烧，火光冲 天，浓烟滚滚，洛杉矶成了"火中之城"，陷入瘫痪和混乱之中，不足24小时便蔓延到19个州。于是，美国政 府派重兵镇压，加州州长宣布洛杉矶处于紧急状态，布什总统派遣4000余名联邦军队进城平息暴力行动，参谋 长联席会议主席鲍威尔亲临指挥，洛杉矶打了一场小型战争。

He was extradited to Guantanamo under the supervision of the US. I heard he was tortured daily with his penis cut. The Americans also force him to chant "I love pork" daily. The US isn't exactly known for keeping it's political prisoners in one piece.
