This look at the ETB Lines of MUNI starts off with a musical intro (sorry for the corny music, but it fits!) featuring a number of run-by clips. From there, it goes into sound clips of the Flyer E-800's (currently confined only to peak route #41-UNION) as well as sound clips of the Flyer Artics that can be found on routes 14, 30, and 49. The Skoda 40 Footers that form the backbone of the fleet are in the subseqent chapter

Heh! I remember (kind of) when the E800's were new! I can barely remember the old cream and green trolley buses...

MUNI's E800 Flyers are now history. Three have been transfered to the historic bus fleet including the final Flyer delivered to MUNI in 1977. Hope you got to ride one of these vintage trolleybuses.

Although this video is grainey and could be cleaner its content is excellent. The trolley buses are verywell represented. The music is a nice touch. The E800 Flyers shown are almost gone. Only about a dozen remain in the fleet and venture out very rarely. Muni will hold on to a couple for its historic fleet. No word yet when these E800 Flyers that remain will disappear for good. Ride them now.Tommorow may be too late......

Are all of those older generation buses retired??
jemdude22 (July 15, 2007 at 2:08 pm)
I believe so. The older generation of trolleybuses are much quieter than their more modern counterparts which have more complex electronics and, of course, air-conditioning system.
