The guy who is the head designer at Apple: he designed the iMac, Mac Pro's the iPhod, iPhone etc.

Yes, but if you adapt you can simply do much things much simplier. For example Graffiti handwriting recognition system (Block Recognizer on Windows Mobile pletform) is much better and faster than thumb virtual keyboard from iPhone - I Am using it on my PocketPC device to type short messages (when I don't want open hardware keyboard).

Well, for instance, they assume you adapt to the technology, not the other way around like with more modern equipment. And the iPod Touch/iPhone is really the spiritual successor to the Newt (though I guess Apple might come out with a tablet maybe later).

Difficult? What the hell are you talking about!? It was a one of the first portable computers, not a toy like deviced mentioned by you.Ok, maybe iPhone is something more, but in my opinion lack of stylus and any handwriting recognition system is serious mistake. Now I preferred rather still be a PocketPC (HTC) user than buy an iPhone to impress my friends.

Wow, I'm amased at how difficult it's to use. What a pain in the ass.I'm glad they got everything sorted by the time the iPod Touch/iPhone came out.

you mean an iPhone?

i bet if apple released a newer version of the newton, yet less expensive, it would be one of the most inovative ideas since the computer itself
EuroCarfan00 (June 11, 2008 at 12:21 am)
and they have released a stylus for the iPhone. though I think Inkwell would take care for the handwriting recognition.

"From the start, Ive won his share of accolades. He designed the first PDA to run Apple's short-lived Newton software. But by the time he replaced Brunner to become Apple's design chief in 1996" -- From Buissnes Week; Who Is Jonathan Ive?
