Scary.When my family moved from Shumcacher(Timmins Ont back in 1964) Oakvilles Lakeshore was called Colburne st. I lived there in both well times the best of times, For all those i met in life there On a few differnant addresses. Sure there were sad and bad memorys. And in thinking of those times theres not another place i would choose to learn who iam now. And thats not much in this incredible walk we call life. It's Just the best of times, Perhaps some others may find this archive we share.

The Santa Clause was filmed in Downtown Oakville. I lived on Allan St. and remember coming home at 2am on a hot night in August and the production crew had it looking like Christmas with fake snow and decorations everywhere, even a tree lot was there.

Downtown is really nice at night right now with all the Christmas decorations, and not too many drunk kids puking on themselves. It's better than ever. When someone says Oakville I always think of downtown Lakeshore and the 16 mile creek harbour. Everything else is too much like Burlington and Mississauga.

I will have to agree with you cyberwanderer, My son i had asked him the status of Oakvilles nightlife., He pretty much concluded that it has been passified to the point that once famous town for late night windowshoping is no more. Agreeed a dam shame.
