I like the way that Gerkin tears off on some of the transitional portions of the songs written with Tim Dow. He really flings in some rythmic headaches in the tracks from Lula Divina. Sort of a "watch this" flair to it. We saw them in Pensacola in 2000 and they played Third Gear Scratch as an instrumental due to mic problems. Jason Gerkin slayed it.

i think i was at this show...isnt this the fireside show when some celing tiles almost hit alan in the head?did they ever end up tearin' that place (fireside) down...oh how many great shows i saw there, fer bein' a smelly dump...smelled like old bowlin' shoes..we played there too a few times..ah..memories..Lula..and i still have a Splay poster i swiped after the Splay tour at The Empty Bottle...now THAT was a SHOW!Anyone have Splay show footage? Tim Dow Roked the drums like "Animal" ..

Wow, this brings back memories. I saw Shiner once when they were on tour for the Luna Divinia album. They played with Burning Airlines in what was basically a school cafeteria building in Towson College, Maryland. There were maybe 35 people there. Fucking amazing show.

God is the Fireside a P.O.S...That said, I've seen some great shows there.We played with Shiner at a crap joint in my hometown too.

Yeah, I actually saw ATDI there once when about 15 people were in the crowd. It was around 1998, probably. The funny part is that the low turnout was due to the fact that Frodus was supposed to play but had to cancel. Even a little bit later that year, and ATDI was infinitely more popular than Frodus. |
