collapsible pack saws are the way to go. i got a little gerber one that breaks down into 3 pieces and comes with a case that fits on your belt. it give a nice clean cut to the pelvic bone=no meat loss. splitting the pelvis is nice because once your open the deer up, you can just grab the throat and pull and just slide the knife along the spine

There is a lot simpler way, the pelvic bone doesn't need to be broken...you can also remove the lungs, and heart in the same motion...such a waste to cut through the pevlis

this is so cool but that is not how u properly cut through the anus. there is much simpler ways and its better to do this proceedure on goats.
