I can't believe how many people are misinformed and misled. I'm trying to understand but it's beyond belief. That's what I get for looking to youtube and reading posts. a good way to fuck up my day.

The BBC is funded by the UK taxpayer and it's board, governors and Chief executive are chosen by the UK government, who have a direct say in what is news and what is not. The Beeb follows the government line yet merely pretends to be an independent news source. It is like Pravda in the old USSR, you have to read between the lines!
liverbitz91 (May 9, 2008 at 3:06 am)
i would almost agree with you except for you sticking in the BBC with all those other "news dudes". the BBC is actually, believe it or not, an INDEPENDANT news group.

By the way... San Rafael, California? Please. I drove through San Rafael, Haiti every week for a year when I had to go from Pignon to Okap. I thought your street corner looked a little too clean. Try holding your protest signs on the corner of San Rafael's eroded muddy streets in the same kind of rain and proclaim what great things Aristide's "Democratie" has accomplished for those people.

These folks are very misguided. They are making the same disasterous assumptions as the US govt powers they are protesting. They think that Democracy is the answer to all of Haiti's problems. Since Haiti was a so-called 'Democracy' they were not considered a threat to US stability and were essentialy ignored for decades as Aristid's Democratic Despotism raped the country. As soon as the Coup started USA was all over Haiti like stink on poop. More help in a month from the US than all those years.

This makes me cringe, blans who don't have a clue. Well intentioned I'm sure but if you don't know what you're talking about then you should keep quiet because it just makes things worse. Sa fe-m wont, blan yo ki pa konprann sityasyon-an tout bon. Li gen bon volonte men si ou pa konnen sou sa w'ap pale, fok ou silan paske sa ka fe bagay yo pi red.

Forget the 99.5 of the global population that take everything at face value and believe their minority interest media (BBC, FOX, CNN, etc... Haiti was the catalyst for the revolution in Latin America. Haitian heroes line the Venezuelan congress in gratitude of their inspiration and support to Simon Bolivar in his quest to liberate his homeland. Haiti, real land of the brave and the free. It's sufferation is an orchestrated effort by France,US to bring them to heal, like Cuba.
