Communism is a political ideology; it can't kill anyone. However, Communist leaders can and have. They didn't do it just because they were communists, though. Its not fair to blame the parent (communism) for the faults of the child (communist leaders). In its purest form, communism is a brilliant theory (everyone working together for the betterment of the country). However with the human element ideas always get skewed and things end up going down the drain. I prefer socialism, if anything.

i'm not an american. and yes, i know for a fact that he's a communist coz i myself am a member of a huge communist group in the Philippines (heard of CPP-NPA-NDF?). I believe in arm struggle more than parliamentary struggle. anwyays, i just love the song. P.S. a lot has changed with time. we don't kill innocent people now.
