The music was another piece that made me fall in love is orchestral music all those many years ago. Thanks for posting this and THANK YOU MR. BERNSTEIN.

I think he may have slowed down his movements, because that way he can concentrate on listening the music a bit more...which he obviously loves to hear :).

ahh. amazing piece. bernstein was a genius.. more so of a conductor then a composer, but candide and west side story are great!! i love the horn counter-melody at 3:05. its very uncharacteristic of bernstein to be so motionless while conducting, i wonder if he did it because candide is such joke filled music.

Last week I heard some KIDS playing this piece in a competition in Vienna, Austria. They were awesome. They won their category. |
