I'm not saying that some folks don't tune sharp but saying that "most" people tune sharp is far from accurate. I make my living playing guitar and out of all of the players I have met over the years I have never met one that tunes an eighth (or whatever you meant by what you said) sharp. Or anything other than standard. You get the occassional(sp?) half step up or down but nothing in-between that. Especially not live. Just didn't want any beginners getting confused.

Buying a taylor may not make you sound great, but you'll sound a whole lot better than playing on a cheaper guitar, and you'll enjoy it more too.

This man made me spend a lot of money on a Taylor, when I realsied it wasn't the guitar but the player that sounded great, then the Taylor had to go. What a payer!

most people tune slightly higher pitch than the note. Gives a brighter tone. If you tune your guitar even slightly flat generally it makes it have a dull sound. Andy mckee told me he tunes at the note plus 1/8 most of the time. Gives him that great sound
