No im not a democrat or a republican..I see my country going down the shit so im worried because the republicans have created this debt..and no your wrong..Clinton's jobs were mostly from the internet surge in the 90's, not from flipping burgers..and you have it the other way around..Reagan took money out of social security and tripled the national debt..oh ya ur boy Bush..hes done a great job making the debt grow from 4.5 to 9.5 trillion in almost eight years..You're one closed minded person...

i didn't say it wasn't going to affect our standard of living. it will: we are due for a big increase in our inflation rate anyway, and as that occurs, all of our debt will become cheaper to pay off, since we are paying it off in nominal dollars, not real dollars. it will take more nominal dollars to buy products domestically and to import, but that's a result of our imprudent lending. borrowing only works when growth is expected, and our economy is stagnant. therein lies the problem.
