o wow most people definately need more than two years unless you have freakishly strong legs and feet.

I am dillchamps sister and i danced for 5 years before i got on pointe but it really depends on how old you are and how strong you are and your ability

I have a question about turning I have been dancing now for 13years and STILL can't get the head right my teacher uses the leave and whip way to try and teach us but it just makes my head hurt REALLY bad and I know I'm not going to get anywhere if I can't turn properly so what I was wondering is if theres a way of turning without making my head hurt!! Or making me dizzy or is it just me??

its actually mostly dependent on your strength not how well you can dance. And a big part is your age because your foot muscle or bone stuff isn't fully developed until a certain age which is around twelve. if you start too soon before that you can easily permanently damage your feet and you wont be able to dance again or well. so obviously if you try a pair of pointe shoes on and they dont hurt when you walk around, even tho ur feet and legs are shaking, it doesnt mean your ready for pointe :) |
