This song was pretty much the signal of the end of the New Jack Swing era (IMO). It's a very good song, but this was when NJS was being ushered out for harder hip-hop/R&B. So in a sense, it seems almost dated to have come out in 1993. That same year, Jodeci had already switched up their steez, and everyone else after that kinda bit their style. But I like Johnny Gill when he's cutting a rug. He's good at both slow and fast tempo songs.

One of the reasons why I love this song so much and anything JG sings for that matter is because Stokley and Mint Condition sang background vocals to this song. They were on Jam and Lewis' perspective label at the time.
