Ibanez r u retarded??? Mercury had to make a 300hp motor to compete with the power offered by e-tecs. Now that e-tec has a 300hp mercury, yamaha, and honda r fucked...quit your bitching and accept it.

BiggSassOfTheOV you find me any E-tec piece of shit that will beat a 300Hp Merc Verado and i'll give you some credit. And no 2 strokes dont make double the power. Power is rated at the prop so it depends on how fast the prob is spinning and at what level of torque. Evinrude/johnoson having nothing on Mercury and Yamaha...Bottom line

It's stupid and commercial . Why people from Evinrude always compare with Yamaha not with Honda Mercury or Tohatsu? It's easy. Yamaha is the best and always was best outboard. E-tec mayby is stronger but not more than 10 % . It's 2 - stroke .But think how many petrol use 2- stroke and 4 - stroke ? I had 25 hp yamaha 2- stroke and now I have 25 hp yamaha 4 - stroke . Both are good but 4 - stroke use 5 l/h and 2 - stroke 12 :) Power is the same !

hey ibanezjames, how is this garbage? it doubles the speed because its lighter and its way way way more powerful. this is the best engine built to this day. a 2-stroke makes power every revolution. a 4-stroke makes power every other revolution. people still think that mercury and yamaha are better than e-tec. thats because they dont know anything about e-tecs.a 4-stroke will never match the power and torque of a 2-stroke.especialy not e-tec. there just too good.

How do they honestly expect us to believe that their engine of the smae power doubles the speed... I can see maybe a 10% increase but not over 100%....this is garbage

I have a 2006 23 mako with a 225 etec. My fuel burn at 32 mph is 8.1 gph. And i can troll for 6 hrs on 1 gallon of gas. My top speed is 50mph. And i have owned yamaha and mercury. I love my Etec!!

2 strokes are always gona be faster than 4 strokes.but they use more fuel and there shitty and thats why u get a yamaha 4 stroke. oh and if it was 2 stroke yamaha then it would beat it.
