http://www.outlawsworld.comRIP... Hughie...I am saddened beyond words. Now you truly are the Ghost Rider in the Sky...missing you like heck already/EasyGoer13. Why was Hughie Thomasson one of the all-time greats? Check out this live performance clip and find out for yourself! One of the greatest Southern Rock bands, the Outlaws caught in concert on their 30th Anniversary Tour on 10/15/2005 in New York City. This is the title track from their sixth studio album, 1980's Ghost Riders (really cool album cover, BTW!). Although Ghost Riders In The Sky was first made famous by Johnny Cash, the melody and lyrics were actually written by Stan Jones. Take a listen and see if the Outlaws have not made this song their own with their unique Southern power-rock cover.Jimmy Page stole "Dazed And Confused" from Jake Holmes...thin-skinned plagiarist prick... http://www.shindig-magazine.co... always surprised by how much better known Lynyrd Skynyrd is, than the Outlaws. Let me tell you: there is no difference in quality; Skynyrd is awesome - and the Outlaws are every bit as good! Their triple-lead guitar attack was known as The Florida Guitar Army, led by one of the great rock guitarists ever, Hughie Thomasson. This is rock 'n' roll guitarmanship as good as it gets! If you have never seen The Outlaws live....you really missed out. I feel privileged to have seen these guys play in front of me. http://www.outlawsworld.com
