The flexible swords they use are called Urumi, a kind of whip sword. It's probably the inspiration for those flexible swords you see in asian martial arts.Urumis were said to be able to behead a man with one stroke, and although this is undoubtedly an exaggeration, they can do quite a bit of damage when they hit, due to the sheer force whip-force of a blade that length being swung just right.As for the village's name, India has many many villages, and some of them share the same names.

correct if you look at the wall in the main Shaolin temple it shows Budi Darhma as an indian doing all the kung-fu animal styles which very much resemble the animal styles in this art form of course noone really knows for sure |
