What I am suggesting is that you get off your happy ass and actually read the NI legislation you might find it to be a fundamentalist christians wet dream. There are enough of them to get a constitutional amendment passed which will not be subject to a review by the courts.

What do you suggest a dictatorship, where either you are or pick the dictator, or a republic with intelligence tests where you decide the questions/intelligence level. If people just gave a shit about their country forms of democracy would work fine, but people don't. It's not the systems fault.

I wish it were actually just that but 30 years of history should clue you in that no matter who gets elected they represent the corporations that got them elected instead of the people who. Our republic has problems but democracy is not the solution. 49 years in the south I can guarantee you there are more rednecks in America than intellectuals and you don't want my pickup driving neighbors making laws for you.

Then what we do have when less than 50% of people vote in our republic, and decide for the rest who rules government that decide these rights to take away.
crazycatfguy (January 21, 2008 at 8:06 pm)
Democracy is mob rule. 51% being able to take the rights away from the rest of us. Huge difference.

And its so different from democracy that everyone just refers to our republic as a democracy.

Hillary will win! Get it?? It could be 1000 to 1--Hillary being the 1, but she will win! Get it?? It's already been decided! Paper ballots?? Oh, hell no--that's a waste of paper! Clinton won, will win--get it?? It's already been decided. You are free to vote--your vote counts! Clinton will win! Get it?? It's already been decided!! You have a voice, your voice counts!! Clinton will win!! Get it??

The DNC is dumb shits if they think that Hillary is as good as it comes.

Then maybe we need another civil war. The founding fathers hated democracy so much they created a Republic so it would never happen.
